A good pastor will be able to call audibles when ministry plans don't go the way they had planned. I can't begin to count how many times I have had to come with a 'plan b' or 'plan c'... I just decided to create a new blog category called 'ministry audibles'. It will be fun to look back at all of these someday. Don't get me wrong, I'm not quite the Peyton Manning of youth ministry but I have learned not to lose it when things don't go as planned. Take last night as an example, our junior high and senior high broke into groups and went through the neighborhood to hand out bags that could be filled with food for those who need it. It was a beautiful night so weather wasn't the reason for our audible, we had just the right number of leaders and students so that didn't create the need for an audible. When the group of high school students that I was leading arrived at our assigned neighborhood, we met up with the Boy Scouts who had already canvassed the neighborhood with their bags asking for food items. This didn't effect to many other groups. So, we returned to the Church and decided to do what is pictured above with our bags. We do know the owner of the car. I'm not sure if last night gets categorized into the wise decisions category but it will be a memory the students and I will remember.
P.S. The person who was pranked has already retaliated.
