I've been asked to go golfing next Friday for my first time this season. Golfing is one of those activities that I enjoy but always feel silly doing. Even though I grew up on a golf course and was raised taking golf lessons, I play so infrequently that I am hardly consistent. I usually have one or two great shots per 18 holes that keep me wanting to play the game. My competitive nature desires to be good at everything I do but golfing seems to be one of those things that gets the best of me. My remedy is to go with friends (people I can trust and be myself with) so that I can quit pretending that I am something that I'm not. Andy Bernard taught me from last weeks episode of 'The Office' that I don't want to hit 1200 balls before I go out. I would get major blisters.
The other thing about golfing that always gets me is the time. My wife always asks when I will be returning from a time of golf and I always forget the fact that I am terrible and am on the time by at least an hour.
